After thoughtful and careful review of the Boomhower Grant applications for the school year
2023-2024, the Grant Committee awarded teachers $300.00 each to help implement their great ideas:
Committee members: Lin Crane, Chair, Lloyd Knudsen, Marilyn Buckloh, Dena Rising, and Jeanne Bystricky
Congratulations to grant recipients. On behalf of the retired teachers of Medina County we salute your continuing passion to seek out greater opportunities for your students.
Lin Crane,
Grant Committee chairman
Thank you to all who contributed or will contribute to our grant fund. Our annual Nancy Boomhower Memorial Active Teacher Grant Program, which was established in 2013, will serve as a lasting legacy to Nancy's memory. Contributions can be made to our Teacher Grant fund anytime during the year.
A Thank You to everyone who served on the Grant Review Committee. Those members are: Marilyn Buckloh, Dena Rising, Lloyd Knudsen, Lin Crane(Chairman).
Nancy Boomhower/Teacher Grants February 12, 1938 - October 29, 2013 Gifted educator, past President of Medina County Retired Teachers Association, District X Director, Eastern Area Vice President, and President Elect 2014 ORTA President Nancy's passion was to establish a grant for current teachers and to acquaint them with MCRTA. She remembered those days of spending her own money on classroom materials and projects. Nancy encouraged MCTRA to help 'pay it forward' to some of those teachers who personally provide extra, special opportunities for students in their classrooms that school budgets just won't allow. Her generous initial donation established this fund. MCRTA will continue to raise funds to make this grant available to all current teachers working in Medina County schools. Grant applications are available at Medina County Schools and on-line at this site. Mail completed applications by May 1st of each year.
